¡Viva Mexico!

So here's the rundown, Nathan and I go someplace new every year to have our annual shareholders meeting, last year was Nicaragua and this year we decided on mainland Mexico.

We went to this tiny little fishing village about an hour north of Mazatlan. It's out in the middle of nowhere - but there's a full service surfcamp there with close proximity to 3 or 4 really good surf spots. The camp is run really well, the food is really good, they have a/c & wireless internet and most importatntly they have the boats ready at the crack of dawn to run you out to wherever the waves are breaking.

Most everyday we were all by ourselves, just our group of about 6 guys. We went with a really fun group: Tim Smith, Ryan Bunker, Bryan Thacker, Marc Hemeon, Jeff Hoffman, Nathan & I. A few guys I hadn't met before the trip but everyone hit it off really well and generally speaking if you're Mormon and from Southern California, chances are you know about 50 of the same people.

The schedule was basically wake up, get on the boat, surf for 3-5 hours, eat a pb&j in the boat, head back to camp for lunch, eat some fresh shrimp or chicken, take a nap, do some work online, check the waves for an afternoon session, come back for dinner, watch a movie on Marc's sweet projector and go to bed. Repeat for 4 days. We lucked out and had some fun waves most everyday. . .

Here are some more pics:

This is the house we stayed in, our rooms were on the second floor

These are some more pics from out in the water at a spot called Patoles, this is the best break around there, basically 400-500 yard long lefts. . . kind of wasted on me going backside. . . Nathan & Ryan Bunker were owning it out there -

Thanks Kate for letting me go & being the best wife & mom around!

Katie & Megan get to go to New York City, just the two of them next weekend, I'll make sure she takes the camera to take some pictures and get a report. . .

wow, that sounds like so much fun, and i don't even surf. what a fun job that would be, to run a place like that. do those people make any money?

can't wait to hear about katie's trip! is she trying out for broadway while she's there?
